The Key to Ranking in Search Engines

Two of the Most Important Factors To Ranking In The Search Engines

High Quality Content

Number 1: High Quality Content. Google loves content, especially high quality content. The more content you have on your website, the more likely you are to rank highly in Google. Why? Well, there are a couple of reasons. The first reason is a lot of website owners don’t update their website very often. People setup their website once and then they leave it. So for Google to know if a business even exists it needs people to update their website. Otherwise they have no idea whether or not it even still exists. Therefore the more you update your website the more likely you are to rank in Google. The second reason; Google’s business revolves around providing their users with good information. If they didn’t provide good information they’d go out of business. Therefore people who continually update their website with valuable content for their users are much more likely to rank highly in Google.

On Page Optimization

Number 2: On Page Optimization: On page what, I hear you say? On Page Optimization. A lot of fitness businesses leave this part out and it’s incredibly important. When it comes to search engine optimization, on page optimization refers to factors that have an effect on your website listing in the search results and it all has to do with the coding on your page. Now, before you run a mile, I know I just mentioned coding which can seem a little scary, I’m going to show you a very simple step by step way to do this to your wordpress website. If you don’t have a wordpress website, we have a training module to show you how to create a wordpress site, otherwise you will need to find out how to do this on your website platform. On Page Optimization considers things like your URL, keyword density, headlines, links and descriptions and it’s basically making sure that Google knows exactly what your website is about.

A lot of people in the fitness industry will create a website which might briefly mention they offer personal training, or it might mention group training or bootcamps, yet the links on the page don’t include these words, and they don’t provide a description that they want Google to show in their search engines. You know that description that shows in the search results? Well if you don’t provide Google with a description they will try and create one for you simply pulling a piece of content from your site. What a lot of people don’t know is, you can give Google this description by implementing On page optimization and you can include all of the words people are likely to be searching for in the search engines.

I’m going to break this down further in when I teach you how to do this on your own website, but just know for now, that completing on page optimization is incredibly important to helping you to rank highly in the search engines. Now, before I dive in to show you how to do it, I want to quickly go over some terminology that you need to know in order to understand how all of this works.
